The all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe made its much-anticipated debut last month at the New York International Auto Show. As Hyundai’s best-selling SUV for 32 years, the Santa Fe has an impressive legacy behind it; the 2019 model suggests that its future is perhaps even brighter. The family-friendly Santa Fe has a new look, a stylish interior, and smart new technologies. There’s now also a Santa Fe Diesel, a new first for Hyundai’s venerable favorite.
According to Hyundai, the Santa Fe has three-row seating for family and friends, and the diesel version will have one-touch folding rear seats. The exterior design has not only been revamped, but it has several new features. There’s LED Daytime Running Lights, a wide stance, and sharper lines. Plus, the interior comes with more elbow room and premium materials.
The Santa Fe also comes with a smoother ride, in part thanks to a reengineered suspension. “An optional self-load-leveling suspension provides the Santa Fe with a continuous ride height even while towing or carrying heavier cargo,” according to the official press release. “This system allows Hyundai engineers to tune the rear suspension for comfort and avoid making it too firm for occasional trailer use.”
The new Santa Fe has up to 108 cubic feet of passenger volume, and up to 143.4 cubic feet of total interior volume. There’s up to 235 horsepower with the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, and the diesel powertrain has up to 322 lb-ft of torque.
